My name is Lee Wood. Artistic digital design has been my passion for over 20 years. I've worked in the business since graduating with a BFA from The University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point in 2004. During college I spent my senior year developing my own musky fishing lures. Musky Menace I hoped to turn that into a full time business, but quickly it became too time and cost consuming to produce lures at a large scale. Nonetheless this was my first website published and in the beginning I sold lures through a shopping cart feature. Though few lures were ever sold, the Facebook page has gained nearly a thousand likes. It may not be a dead project yet!

I began in industry straight out of college designing ads for a Wisconsin county newspaper. I moved on to being a graphics coordinator for a large packaging company who had multi-million dollar accounts with Kraft and M&M Mars. My last stop led me to a graphic design position in Madison at a quick printing business. Long story short I got married, started a family, and became a stay-at-home parent for 9 years. I continued freelancing, deigning shirts through Zazzle and became quite successful for several years. While living in Wausau I developed a logo for a local bar/restaurant called Townies Grill. I also began incorporating graphic design theory to web design.

From the age of 14 I worked in the restaurant industry. It was a part-time job for me throughout high school and college. I returned to the service industry between jobs after college and ended up managing several Pizza Huts in the Madison area for about three years. Currently as a stay at home dad in The Northwoods I craved social interaction and began bartending at a nightclub which soon led to a manager position. I worked several night jobs at different bar restaurants in the area. I learned to apply my restaurant background to the bar industry and began working with owners to develop websites and social media presence. The networking through bartending led to several other local web and marketing projects. I relate especially well with small business owners and people in the service industry.

In this modern age graphic design/web design can be done remotely. My preference is still to meet with my clients in person, but If you happen to live outside Northern Wisconsin I would be happy to discuss your website or next design project.
